Cetaceans on Social Media

Cetaceans on Social Media

I’m very pleased to say that our monthly sightings video reports seem to be helping to raise awareness of cetaceans via social media.  People are becoming much more aware of the fact that we have cetaceans all around the British coastline thanks to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc. Not long ago, most folk would travel across the globe to be in with a chance of seeing a pod of killer whales tear through the surface of the water, watch in awe as the giant flippers of a humpback crashed back down to the sea with an enormous ‘smacking’ sound, or delight in watching a pod of seemingly smiling bottlenose dolphins. But, slowly, the message is getting out there.

Our report for December shows eight different species spotted by members of the public. So, if you want to be kept up to date with what’s been seen near you, then follow our Facebook page by clicking below, and please do share!

Thank you for helping us get the message out.

🐳 Did you know that 30 different species of whales, dolphins, and porpoise can be seen around the coast of the UK?…
